Same Day – Single Visit Dental Crowns
Restorative Dentistry at Hugh Fleming Dentistry
Thanks to our state-of-the-art technology and equipment, our team of dental professionals are able to provide single visit crowns, saving patients additional time and effort. Gone are the days of multiple visits to the dentist for a crown procedure!
Relax while your crown is prepared
Patients won’t spend all of this time in the chair either, as there is around a 30-minute break in the middle for them to sit back and relax in our spacious practice lounge with free Wi-Fi while the crown is custom made in our in-house laboratory. The process begins with the tooth being prepared and scanned, before the full porcelain crown is then computer designed, milled and glazed all in the one appointment.
Precision fitted crowns
The resulting crown uses the precision of CAD/CAM design to create an exact fit to the patient’s tooth. Our high-quality, same-day crowns are colour-matched to blend-in seamlessly with the patient’s smile and being full ceramic, as opposed to the older porcelain-metal technology, they are a lot more natural in appearance. Our popular single visit crown service means there’s no need for temporary crowns to be fitted, nor are multiple appointments required. Additionally, the patient requires only one local anaesthetic during this procedure.
When Does a Patient Require a Crown?
There are a number of scenarios in which a dentist may suggest a crown is necessary. These include:
- To strengthen a cracked or badly decayed tooth
- To rebuild a tooth that contains a large broken filling
- To rebuild a tooth that has been eroded or worn down
- To support a dental bridge
- After placement of a dental implant
- Aesthetic reasons, such as to cover discoloured, malformed or malaligned teeth
